"I am a Waldorf trained teacher studying to finish my MEd from UC Santa Cruz. I received my Bachelor’s from Northwestern University, where I majored in Social Policy and minored in International Studies. I had the wonderful opportunity of learning about intergenerational patterns, somatic trauma, and using art, storytelling, and theatre as healing modalities with my work in Colombia and South Africa. I have now been working in the fields of holistic health and education for 15 years."

Intention with Cosmic Labyrinth. My intention with the Cosmic Labyrinth is to hold a nurturing and kind space for children to be who they truly are. May they know and activate the tools they came in with. I also really love the fellow adult teachers and am grateful to work with each and every one of them.

Mick Lorusso is an interdisciplinary artist who has 10 years of teaching experience in STEAM, art, and mindfulness both in independent schools and at the collegiate level. He’s currently the STEAMWork Design Studio assistant at the Westridge School for Girls in Pasadena, CA. He has spent the last seven summers teaching high school students at the UCLA Sci l Art Studio + Lab, and he worked as the STEAM Coordinator for unserved populations at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles. He earned his MFA at San Francisco Art Institute and BA at Colorado College. He is a Kundalini Yoga instructor and teaches Art and Awareness Yoga classes to the homeless. He’s a member of the Cosmic Labyrinth and the Mexican interdisciplinary cooperative XOCIARTEK. He speaks English, Spanish, and Italian.

“I am an herbalist and artist with my BA in English from Stony Brook University where I initially spent 5 years under their Women In Science & Engineering (WISE) program. I owe much to this program for inviting me, while in High School, to peak into many different scientific fields. This allowed me to perceive science as a magical experience, and through my own herbal journey of healing I have received training under Ambrosia Elixirs and The Herbal Academy. Over the past 3 years I have had the honor of helping to create new structures around the concept of food as medicine on the Manhattan bar scene with The Assemblage NYC. Brewed & served in house, we made cocktails that change the alchemy of your body in a desired way using roots, mushrooms, flowers, etc. Food has always been my therapy and where I have the most fun experimenting with herbs. A student of indigenous cultures and medicines from around the world, I love sharing, teaching and learning about the power of plant allies and their uses throughout history. With over 15 years experience in the industry, being of service is something that lights up my heart."

Intention with Cosmic Labyrinth.
As an educator, my intention is to invoke the very act of being intentional. What do you feel now and what do you want to feel? I wish to provide a space conducive to students understanding the innate knowing that occurs when tuning in and empowering them to heal themselves from the inside out. Along with my fellow collaborators, I like to believe we are teaching these beautiful classes as a way of giving this generation the knowledge we wish we had available when we were younger.

May all children know how powerful they are and lean into rather than run from their magic. I am on a mission to live in a world where we all remember and shine brightly and support one another to do the same no matter what age we are.
"I am a teacher and forever student with a long history of working with kids, beginning in high school as a counselor for the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s summer camp, as a reader to underprivileged kids at the St. Leo’s Mission school in San Diego, CA, and volunteering at the Los Angelitos orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. In college, I worked with Eye to Eye - a mentorship program which used art therapy to empower learning disabled students. I graduated Cum Laude from NYU with a BA in English & American Literature and a minor in Creative Writing. Moved by the magic of stories and language, I began my career in NYC’s book publishing industry, before pursuing an opportunity to expand my global consciousness while teaching in a bilingual primary school in Spain. Now based in California, I continue to work as an ESL and writing tutor, while pursuing my deeper mission of bringing mindfulness into schools. My intention with Cosmic Labyrinth is to ensure that our children never lose sight of the magic they enter this world with. So much of growing up is undergoing a long and thorough process of conditioning that moves us further and further away from our truth and inner knowing. My hope for the newest generations is that they never lose touch with their hearts and that they feel free to express themselves. The outcome will be a generation of people who don’t doubt themselves. They will be much more in touch with their intuition, inner guidance, and truest selves, allowing them to create from an authentic heart space and to share their gifts with the world! Moreover, I want to hold space for any student who falls outside of the ‘one size fits all’ education structure currently employed in schools, which only caters to one type of student and way of being in the world. We are so much more than that and many children’s gifts are not being fostered because of education’s total failure to broach the topics of emotional wellness and EQ.
